03 / JAPAN BEYOND TOKYO

Go beyond
the familiar.

A forest path before the day begins. A bend in the coast. A quiet valley, with the light just right.

Based in the Aichi and Mie region, we film across Japan. We help you find the places that fit your story, with local research, access checks and a shooting schedule arranged around your brief. Tell us the mood, terrain or season you need; you don’t have to arrive with a location already chosen.

LET’S FIND YOUR LOCATION
04 / SERVICES

The right unit for your brief.

Choose how much local support you need. The starting point is the production scope: a defined shoot, location research plus filming, or a coordinated local unit.

03

LOCAL PRODUCTION UNIT

A broader story, with a team on the ground.

From ¥900,000

Best forMultiple locations, several contributors or a brief that needs more coordination.

  • A project-specific local production plan
  • Crew and equipment matched to the brief
  • Location, schedule and access coordination
  • Agreed remote reviews and on-set communication
  • Capture and an organised post-production handover

A typical briefA regional destination film, an outdoor campaign or a documentary sequence moving between landscape and local life.

DeliveryFootage and production notes for your team. Crew size, days, interviews and any finishing work are itemised in the quote.

DISCUSS THIS PLAN

Starting prices in JPY. We confirm the scope, schedule, travel, permissions and any applicable taxes in your quotation before you book. Crew size, equipment, shooting days, usage and delivery format are agreed for each project.

What changes the quote?

The number of locations and filming days, distance between them, crew, access, specialist equipment, weather allowances and intended usage. We separate those decisions in the quotation so you can choose what matters.

Have your own editor? We can hand over footage. Need a finished film? Tell us early so editing and finishing are included in the agreed scope.

BUILD ON THE PLAN

Add what the story needs.

A landscape shoot may need more than a camera. These are the extra elements we can discuss when we shape your brief.

+ 01

Location research & recce

Send a mood, a terrain or a reference. Ask for a shortlist, remote location notes or an in-person recce before committing to a shoot.

+ 02

Aerial perspectives

Ask about aerial coverage for coastlines, forests and terrain. We confirm the operator, conditions and location permissions before including it.

+ 03

Dawn, dusk & seasonal timing

Plan around the light you want. Early starts, overnight stays, weather windows and return visits are scoped individually.

+ 04

Ambient sound

Waves, birds, footsteps, wind in the trees. Ask for dedicated sound capture and tell us how the recordings will be used.

+ 05

Local voices & interviews

Add a person’s perspective with introductions, interview planning and language support agreed in advance. Participation depends on consent.

+ 06

Stills & alternate framing

Need campaign stills, portrait-format coverage or additional compositions? Include them in the brief so the crew and shooting time fit.

+ 07

Editing & finishing

Start with footage delivery, or ask for an edited film, colour work, titles and sound finishing as a separate, defined scope.

+ 08

Remote check-ins

Agree sample-frame reviews or a live link, subject to the connection and location. Share your team’s time zone before we plan the day.

These are options to discuss, not automatic inclusions in the starting prices. We confirm feasibility and costs before booking.

05 / HOW IT WORKS

From your brief to your edit.

  1. 01

    Share the brief

Send your references, shot list, intended usage and dates. An early idea is enough to start.

  2. 02

    Build the plan

We agree the locations, crew, access, budget and technical requirements before the shoot.

  3. 03

    Capture in Japan

We film on the ground and keep you involved through the check-ins agreed for your project.

  4. 04

    Hand over the footage

We deliver the agreed footage and supporting notes in a format that fits your post-production workflow.

06 / A LEANER WAY

Bring the idea. Keep the crew local.

Less long-haul logistics.
More attention on the frame.

A local crew can reduce the need for international flights, accommodation and equipment transport. We scale the team to the work, from a focused camera crew to a broader production unit.

You get a project-specific quote, with travel, specialist equipment and permissions clearly identified.

07 / REMOTE PRODUCTION

Close to the shoot. Wherever you are.

We align on references, framing and technical specifications before the camera rolls. On set, agreed check-ins and sample frames keep the conversation going.

Need a live link? Tell us early. We’ll assess connectivity, location permissions and time zones, and agree a workable setup.

  • Pre-production calls and visual references
  • Agreed updates from the location
  • Camera, audio and delivery specifications
  • A clear handover for your editors
THE HANDOVER

Ready for your next step.

01 / BEFORE WE SHOOT

Agree the technical brief.

Tell us your resolution, frame rate, colour workflow, audio requirements and aspect ratios. We confirm what the camera setup will deliver before the shoot.

02 / AT DELIVERY

Know what is in the folder.

Agree how footage should be grouped by location or scene, whether you need review files, and which supporting shot notes will help your editor.

03 / IF YOU NEED A FINISHED FILM

Define the edit as well.

We can discuss an edited master, sound, titles and alternate versions. Film length, review rounds, usage and delivery timing belong in the agreed scope.

WATCH / AHARE IN THE FIELD

Landscapes, in motion.

BEFORE YOU SEND A BRIEF

A few practical questions.

Can we start with a mood board, not a location?

Yes. Send visual references and describe the feeling, terrain and season. SCOUT + CAPTURE is a useful starting point when you need help finding the setting.

What happens if the weather changes?

We plan around forecasts and local conditions, and discuss alternatives before the shoot. Weather windows, extra days or rescheduling arrangements need to be agreed in the quotation; a particular sky or natural event cannot be promised.

Can you capture both wide landscapes and small details?

Yes. We build a shot list that connects establishing views with movement, textures and details. Tell us the intended edit length and pace so we can plan meaningful coverage.

Can our director work remotely?

We can agree reference reviews, check-ins and a practical approval process. A live feed depends on connectivity, access and the setup required at the location.

Can you film at an exact location or use a drone?

Send the location and the shots you have in mind. We first check access, permissions, safety and conditions, then confirm the feasible approach and any specialist costs.

How quickly can you shoot and deliver?

Timing depends on the location, permissions, season, crew and delivery requirements. Include your deadline in the brief and we’ll confirm a realistic schedule before booking.

Who can use the footage, and where?

Tell us the intended media, territories, duration and any third-party use. We agree usage and any relevant permissions before filming, alongside the delivery format.

AHARE was founded in 2023 by filmmaker Koki Nakagoshi, who began directing in 2019. Based in Nagoya, we work across brand, corporate, industry and regional stories.

We approach coordination through the camera: what will the light do, what needs to happen in the frame, and what will your editor need?

Small crew. Local access. Cinematic execution.
